KUALA LUMPUR: The police are still waiting for further instructions from the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) in connection with investigation into the alleged attack on singer Shila Amzah.
Kuala Lumpur acting police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad said the police have submitted the investigation paper to the AGC.
"We are also aware that Datuk Amy Search has lodged a police report as well.
"We are investigating that as well," he told reporters after the handing over ceremony for the KL police chief post on Friday (July 18).
He said the police have recorded the statements of those involved in the case including Shila and Amy.
"We will call up other witnesses if the need arises," he added.
On July 10, Shila filed a police report alleging she was attacked by a legendary singer.
Shila later confirmed that the individual in question was Amy, the father of actress Nabila Huda. The police have taken statements from both parties.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the incident stemmed from Amy's dissatisfaction with Shila, who was accused of interfering in his family’s affairs.
Amy then lodged a report of his own at Shah Alam police station, which police described as a covering report.
His lawyer Datuk M Rexa Hassan said that his client had filed the report against singer Shila after giving his statement to the police.
